Do you sometimes have one of THOSE Mondays where it seems you just can not make any headway on your "to do" list. I've had one today.
My husband purchased a new truck last month. Saturday we got a letter in mail that was going to "suspend your vehicle registration" for non payment of insurance. Well of course we canceled the insurance on the truck we didn't own anymore and got insurance on the new truck before we ever drove it off the lot. My husband went down to the tag office to change over to the new truck and because his name had been listed first on the old truck and my name had been listed first on the new truck he couldn't put the old tag on the new truck. So he turned it in. Got a new tag. One would think we were done, but NOOOOO. So today after a few phone calls to the GA Dept. of Revenue and my local county Tax Commissioner's office and filling out and mailing a form saying we traded in that truck and surrendered that tag... I sit back and cross my fingers and hope.
Then the mail arrived and there was certified mail from the IRS. Nothing like a certified letter from the IRS to scare the beejeezes out of you. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes only to be disconnected and having to start over in line again I finally got to speak to a real human. Turns out if you don't put every little detail about what the money is for on your check the IRS might just ignore the coupon with the check and credit your check to say.... some other quarter not even due yet. So after a length phone call and writing down in detail the agents name, ID # and time and date I made the phone call she assures me it's been corrected and I don't have to worry about them "intending to levy certain assets" as stated in my notice.
Now I'm headed off to see if I can find something good about this Monday? Are you having a good Monday? If so tell me about it. I could use a little good news today.
