Well as you can see I'm not afraid of black cats. My very first cat was a black cat and over the years several of them have been solid black like Sam that you see here. But I am a very superstitious woman.
Generally speaking I would have done laundry on a Sunday off when I'd worked days and days and days without a day off. But I can't wash clothes on New Year's Day. No one in my family does. We don't give knives as gifts either. We have from time to time purchased a knife and then sold it to a family member for say a dime or something, but a out and out gift... nope.
If I go to visit someone I must leave through the same door I enter when I arrive. I even do this at my parents house. I don't walk under ladders, I moved the closing from Friday the 13th of January to Thursday the 12th (of 1995) when I purchased my business.
And yesterday at my house we had greens and peas and pork just like we were supposed to have, like it or not (sorry hon) because I believe in luck or lack there of. I toss salt if I spill some, and my Donald carries a 4 leaf clover in his wallet. I don't put hats on the bed, shoes on the table (even new and in the box) I didn't hang any of my 2012 calendars before yesterday.
So do you have any superstitions? And just for regional kicks... what DID you have to eat yesterday?
