Wish my hometown double gold medalist good luck won't you?

Vincent Hancock is down in Rio to compete in his third Olympics.  The first two times he brought home the gold!

You can follow him on twitter... today he posted a great photo of the beautiful medals for the 2016 games. You can not only follow his progress of that of our entire team!

But by all means head by his Facebook page and wish him good luck in the competition.  He's younger than my daughter and I can't believe how grown up he looks this year.  We had a welcome home for him 4 years ago at the Plaza when he brought home the Gold and I'm looking forward to another one this year.

Do you have any Olympians from your town?

That's a great post Tammy.

I was reading the other day a message from City of Tempe listing about 20 Olympians with Tempe connection. I know a few of them, but didn't know all of them.

I am sure Vincent Hancock will bring another gold medal this year, too! Best of luck to him!

Tammy - thanks for pointing it out to us.  I will be looking and rooting for our Team USA member, Vincint Hancock.

How cool, Tammy. I know there's at least one person from the Charlotte area down in Rio, but couldn't tell you who!

Tammy, I am not following the Olympics this year. I wish your home town Olympian all the best ... may be bring home the Gold again this year!

Tammy, it's fun to have a local kid to root for in the Olympics.  I think my whole area is rooting for Baltimore's Michael Phelps, who is the most famous of the 30 area athletes in Rio.  These people are really special.

This type of happening sure brings a community together, they all pull for their own. It doesn't matter if it is an atheletic thing, music thing or politics.

Hi Tammy Lankford, I'm sure there won't be much of the Olympics that I will miss.  I'll keep ay eye out for him. (Not literally)

Good morning again Tammy. This is such a fabulous story. I don't know anyone local who is participating so I can imagine how much more special the games are for you.

How exciting to watch one of you own in the olympics!  I wish him luck!

It's super special when you get to support a competitor from your home town! And I'm sure it's super special for him knowing that his whole town is rooting for him.

Up here we have Michael Phelps of course. But my girls keep telling me that there's a guy from their gymnastics club.. they don't know his name but "will recognize his face when they see it" ... so we'll have to watch all the qualy rounds to find him

This wasn't exactly the type of photo I expected to see about an Olympic Medalist (my California-ness was a bit jarred). But I guess if you're a shooter, that's the photo to use. I wasn't aware they had that category in the Summer Olympics, but I surely don't know everything about the Olympics. I hope your hometown guy wins many more medals, Tammy!

Andrea Bedard hope it's not this guy who seems to only be an alternate

Wishing your double gold metalist well, Tammy!  We have 6 Olympians from one of our premier swim facilities (Michael Phelps has trained there too!), participating this year!  We are over-the-moon excited about these talented swimmers and rooting for them every stroke of the way!

We also have a diver, who will be returning from Rio to continue med school at Duke and 2 kayakers, who trained at our National Whitewater Center.  Finally, we have one gymnist back-up going who trains in nearby Huntersville.  Yep, we're over the moon excited about these Olympians too!!
