Plant branch boiler implosion 9.16.17

I am not a morning person, but I did get up before the sun came up this morning because I had to be in place with my camera before the traffic got stopped at 7:50 a.m. On April 15, 2015 our power plant (Plant Branch) closed and they've been tearing the plant down for that two and half years.  The boilers were imploded this morning and it was pretty cool to watch.

Hope you think it's neat too. Tomorrow I plan to sleep in!

Hi Tammy- well I'll say it was worth it for you to rise earlier than usual.  I see that some were out in their boats!

Hi Tammiy

It sure would have been a shame to miss that. Pretty cool. Bet there were lots of people out with their cameras. I remember you telling us this was coming quite some time ago.

Tammy,  We all have different reasons for getting up early. You captured a great video of the event.

Enjoy this blessed and beautiful day.

Jeff Dowler amazingly my business page has had 30 new likes and that video more than 3000 views since yesterday.

Kathleen Daniels Mr Green Jeans? does he get you up early?  I want chickens, but I'm not sure how my dogs will feel about it.

Now that is what I call perfect timing, Tammy Lankford, ! I wonder how much asbestos became airborne with those explosions as the water jets seemed pretty feeble for this exercise. Thanks!

Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI NMLS#1483386 it had all been safely removed prior to implosion which is why the tear down is taking three years.  The building was basically a shell... all wiring, fixtures, insulation, sheet rock, etc had been removed.
